Gordie and other Government MLAs get ready to serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate and dessert to individuals at Belkin House in downtown Vancouver.
Gordie joins his fellow MLAs in welcoming Rick Hansen to the Legislature to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his Man in Motion tour. Since the original tour in 1985, which saw Hansen ride his wheelchair through 34 countries and travel over 40,000 kilometres, his foundation has directed $200 million towards raising awareness and finding a cure for people with spinal cord injuries.
Gordie and Stephanie, board members and young athletes “kick off” the Surrey-White Rock Kidsport chapter with $3000 in seed funding from the organization. MLA Hogg’s office has also raised about $2000 in support to date.

Gordie joins Richmond East MLA Linda Reid and provincial government MLAs to raise awareness and help support Anti-Bullying Day. This movement was started by two high school students from Nova Scotia who encouraged their classmates to wear pink in support of a fellow student who was being bullied.
Gordie joins South Surey-White Rock-Cloverdale MP Russ Hiebert and White Rock Mayor Catherine to show their sweeping skills. The event marks the demolition of the Peace Arch Curling Club in Centennial Park, to make way for a new integrated facility – which will serve as the club’s new home as well as the Centre for Active Living.

Surrey-White Rock MLA Gordie Hogg signs the Book of Reflection to commemorate the passing of the last known Canadian World War I Veteran John Babcock. The book is available to sign by the general public and will remain in the legislature until April 9, Vimy Ridge Day.

Olympic torchbearer and local celebrity Ferg Hawke, a leading international ultra-distance runner, joins Gordie at his constituency office. Ferg ran with the torch in Salmo, B.C. and looks forward to seeing the torch visit White Rock on February 9th, 2010.
Gordie presents Times Colonist columnist Les Leyne with more than $600 in donations raised for the Times Colonist Christmas Fund. Gordie joined fellow MLAs George Abbott and Murray Coell, as well as Legislative staff, to “sing” on the CD “Seasons Greetings from the Raucous Caucus Choir.” The CD was sold for $10 or for a donation to not have to listen it. Funds are still being raised with all proceeds going to the charity.
MLA Hogg joins Premier Gordon Campbell and Attorney General Mike De Jong to present members of the BC/Yukon Branch of the Last Post Fund with a proclamation naming Nov. 5, 2009, as 'Last Post Fund Day' in B.C., honouring 100 years of the Last Post Fund's work to mark veterans' graves.

Gordie joins Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Kevin Falcon and federal International Trade Minister Stockwell Day in Victoria to announce $110 million for 41 different infrastructure projects in smaller communities right across the province. The funding is a result of cooperation with the federal government through the Canada/B.C. Building Canada fund.
